Tract Search

A tract search is one of the tasks performed by a title company prior to the issuance of an abstract and/or a title insurance policy. The search is of the written history of all the transactions that bear on the title to a specific piece of land. An abstract of title covers the time from when the property was first sold to the present and is used by the title company to produce a title binder.

The downstairs area at Otsego County Abstract & Title Co. could qualify for museum status in that it houses the Otsego County records dating back to the beginning of record-keeping in the area. Having these records at our fingertips makes us uniquely qualified to provide extremely comprehensive searches in a very timely manner.

Our records range from the earliest hand-written drawings and descriptions to the most modern computer digitization.
